How do I become a volunteer for Sol Harmony Fest?

What kind of volunteer opportunities are available?

  • Sponsorship committee: help us collect info about and reach out to potential sponsors

  • Planning committee: help us plan and prepare for the festival with marketing, social media, and spreading the word about the festival

  • Set up: help us prep the land, build the tents, paint the signs, and get everything ready for the festival

  • Volunteer during the festival: help us with gate/check in, parking, assisting teachers/vendors/healers, and much more

  • Break down: help us take everything down from the festival, pack it up, and clean up the land after the festival

What are the guidelines to be a volunteer?

If you are under 18, we ask that you have a parent or guardian volunteering with you. Otherwise, we are just looking for people who are energetic and looking to be part of a fun, positive experience.

How long is a volunteer shift?

Most shifts will be 4 hours. We ask that you arrive 15 mins before your shift so you can check in with that day’s volunteer coordinator. We ask if you volunteer to be sure to work your full shift. We rely on our volunteers to make sure the Sol Harmony Fest is the best it can be.

What are the perks of volunteering?

You are helping out an awesome grassroots festival focused on healing, inclusivity and wellness! Also, you will receive free admission for the day of your volunteer shift and are welcome to enjoy the festival for the entire day of your shift. Come early, stay late! Camping is not included but can easily be purchased at SolHarmonyFest.com

What do I need to bring/What should I wear?

Volunteers should bring sunscreen, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, rainwear, comfortable closed-toe shoes, and a flashlight (if on a night shift).

What if there's bad weather?

The event will happen rain or shine. We have large tents for class areas. Keep an eye on the weather and come prepared with rain jacket, umbrella, sunscreen, etc

Do I have to wear a mask if I'm volunteering?

Since it is an open air festival, we are encouraging people to make their own decisions regarding masks. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the festival.

What should I do when I arrive for my volunteer shift?

Check in at the volunteer area (see the map with location). Please arrive 15-20 mins before your shift. We will have a communal space for volunteers to keep belongings, a fridge for any food/ drink, and seats to take a break.

Can I volunteer/work with my friends?

We will do our best to accommodate requests regarding days and shifts!

Can I volunteer for more than one day?

Absolutely!! We encourage you to volunteer for as many shifts as you want. But be sure to leave time to enjoy yourself.

What will my responsibilities be?

Depending on your team you have volunteered for, the responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Pre-Fest Support- Anything from clearing trails, to organizing information, painting signs, to setting up tents, These shifts are free flowing you can pop in and out during the designated hours we will be working.

  • Vendor Check In: Supporting all vendors as the enter to find their spot, answer any questions, and welcome them to the event.

  • Camping Check In: Supporting All campers in locating their designated camping area

  • Green Team & All volunteers: Making sure the area stays green and clean. Help us by picking up trash, keeping an eye on over full waste cans, check on our bathroom facilities for more supplies/ tp and sanitizer.

  • Peace Patrol: Help us by keeping an inviting peaceful environment. Notice situations that could become “wild” and calmly diffuse using peace and kindness. Also report to the peace patrol captain when a situation could use more support.

  • Gate Team: Help with taking tickets and welcoming all the amazing humans to our 3rd annual Sol Harmony Fest

  • Parking Crew: Help guests find a parking spot. Help cart people from the overflow lot (if needed)

  • Set up Team: Join us the few days before the festival to set up tents, signs, decorations, and set good intentions into the land.

  • Tear Down Team: After the event is over helping us clean the land and break down all the areas.

  • Presenter Team: Making sure classes start and end on time. Making sure teachers, speakers, and entertainers are present and ready to teach, speak, or perform.

  • Merch Booth: Selling Festival Merch, and making people’s day!
