About Sol Harmony Fest.

Sol Harmony Fest was created to support and connect the various holistic communities. We truly believe that there are unlimited ways to heal, grow and transform; which is why we offer such a variety of holistic services at our event.

When we came together for the 1st annual Sol Harmony Fest in 2021, an Intention was set.

We didn't really know what to expect from the outcome. We spent most of our days exploring & meeting with local teachers, healers and other holistic businesses to spread the word and gather feedback from the community.

The energy and support we received was vital to the holding of our intention throughout the planning stages and into the actual event. We knew that our intention was strong and we learned throughout the event and even after, the depths that it had reached and the lives that it had changed.

We are extremely grateful and excited to welcome back everyone who joined us last year and look forward to seeing many new faces and having more amazing experiences to share.

Tell us about you, & how you hope to co-create with us.: Holly Whitman is an intuitive energy healer and guide. She meets with clients online but also hosts and facilitates boutique wellness & yoga retreats on her property in South Carolina.

After moving to SC with her partner, and leaving her 9-5 life, where for 20+ years she facilitated events, fundraisers and private retreats for others; she has been able to focus more on her healing and coaching techniques with clients one to one and in small group settings.

As much as she loved and would never have thought to move away, the move south was what she needed to start really living her life to its fullest! The knowledge of what is possible to each of us, if we reach out, ask for help and do the work, is what excites her to help others reach out, ask for help and do the work, so that they may find their souls purpose and deepest truth.

Holly realizes that stepping up and asking for the healing or guidance it takes to move forward on your path isn’t always easy or comfortable. But taking that step is necessary and rewarding. Holly loves bringing communities, tribes and individuals, together to connect and heal.

Holly knows what it is like to move and leave everything familiar and cherished behind to start down a new path (and sometimes a scary one) but definitely worth it! She will assist you and invite others to join the Sol Harmony Fest, to start down or to continue on their path.

About me:

Hello! My name is Javier and I am originally from Puerto Rico. When I was 8 years old, my aunt came to visit and gave me a tiny Reflexology chart card. It showed a map of the feet and where to press to make people feel relief from allergies, headaches, digestive issues and more! This excited me because, even at that young age, all I wanted was to help people (specifically at the time, my mom) feel better. As I started practicing on my aunt, I saw that it worked, and I fell in love with Reflexology!

At the age of 20, I obtained Chakra Reflexology and Reiki certifications at the ULC. Institute of Natural Healing in Carolina, Puerto Rico by Rev. Ken Smith and Rev Carla M. Perez-Smith.

Over the years, I have continued to practice and offer treatments to friends and family on the side. But then, 2020 happened. For me, as I’m sure for many of you, it was a life shattering year. I lost my mom early on to Covid. Then, I was fired from my banking job for caring too much for fraud victims. Everything I held dear in my life was stripped away. Everything, that is, except my new found love, Shelly. We met serendipitously at a spiritual community meeting hosted by our mutual friend, Bodhi Deva Ma. When the meeting ended, I could tell she was suffering from a headache, and of course, being who I am, I wanted to help her. I offered if she would come back later that night for Bodhi’s Yoga Nedra class, I could do some Reflexology to help her with her headache. She agreed and I performed a quick 10 minute session for her which took care of the headache (as I knew it would). What I didn’t expect, however, was the spark I felt when I connected with her spirit, the spark I’d been searching for my whole life! And the rest, as they say, was history! Now, with her enthusiastic support, I have decided to take this opportunity to realize my life-long dream of doing Reflexology full time.

I have now completed 300 hours of my Reflexology certification class, completed 30+ documented sessions and signed up for American Reflexology Certification Board examination (ARCB.NET). I am Certified TCM Reflexologist by the Academy of Reflective Wellness in Salisbury.

Owner, Allie Reid, started Reid Massage & Wellness in Scotia, NY in 2018 and has been a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist since 2017, with extensive hands-on experience. Allie closed her massage business in NY in 2021 to move to Charlotte, NC to pursue her dreams of opening a location in the south. As of July 2021, Allie is now licensed in North and South Carolina. The first half hour will include age appropriate breath work, a grounding practice, and a themed yoga flow based on an intention set for class.

In the last half hour of class, children will have the freedom to create a craft based on the intention set for class to take home.

Bio

I'm Nikki! I did not find yoga; yoga found me. I started my journey in 2018 when I took my first yoga class for chronic pain. It subsided my pain, and also quieted my mind. It was in that moment that I knew someday I would teach yoga. More specifically, I felt called to teach children. I struggled with OCD and anxiety as a child and I feel yoga was what my inner child needed. One of my hopes is to reach children and those with their own inner child calling out. In 2020 I received my 95 hour RCYT through Grounded Kids and in 2022 I received my 200 hour RYT through Sacred Paths Yoga. My goal has and always will be to facilitate a safe space that guides others through the self healing power of yoga.

Hi there! My name is Daniel (they/them), I'm a trans, queer, non-binary person. My work and my teaching is rooted in transitions/transformation and exploration. I have been teaching yoga asana and meditation for about 10 years and as I continue to evolve my practices and my teachings evolve with me. As a trans person in wellness I've continuously honed in on my creativity and adaptability to be able to make practices accessible to me and my community and the benefits have been profoundly healing. I've often felt a pull between holding space for these ancient practices, as they are, while integrating them into the current world we live in. Ultimately these practices that we engage in are practices of liberation and everyone deserves access to them.

As far as formal training goes, I have over 800 hours of training in yoga asana, meditation, and pranayam. The styles of yoga asana I'm trained in include Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, Prenatal, and Yoga Nidra.

I moved to Charlotte about 1 year ago from San Diego, CA but I'm originally from NY, which is where I received my first YTT certs and began my journey. I'm deeply passionate about sharing the heart of yoga practice and philosophy as it relates to our daily lives, trying to bridge the gap between arriving on the mat and living yoga in all aspects.

During this process students will use visualization and journaling; a blank work-sheet and writing utensils will be provided to them (by me). This is an introspective exercise, but towards the end of the workshop I will make space for students to share what came up for them, if they wish to do so. At the end of the class, each student will walk away with a "tool kit" containing a list of ideas and activities that allow them to perform Self-Care and add Self-Love in their daily lives."

Bio

I am a Mechanical Design Engineer who graduated with a Masters Degree from Duke University. Besides Engineering I am fluent in the field of Martial Arts and Mental Arts, and I practice these philosophies in my work with Men’s circles. I am associated with The ManKind Project where I work with the Gold Mining Men’s Circle and the Gold Mining Skill Building Circle to co-create a world of purpose and peace.

I embody the spirit of a Healing Panda and I bring this calming and playful energy to my mission work. My mission is to co-create a community where people practice Self-Care, daily. I share my knowledge of Engineering Design tools to help people discover Self-Care activities that are meaningful to them and I empower them to apply these practices in their daily routine.

I attended the first annual Sol Harmony Fest by winning tickets via random drawing contest on Instagram. It's one of the top most memorable festivals that I've been to, and I'm not even exaggerating.

From the beginning we were shown an abundance of compassion. My girlfriend, bestie, and I traveled from Myrtle Beach, SC to Salisbury, NC and booked a "campsite" on Air BnB. We arrived past sunset (which we knew would happen and let the host know ahead of time) and ended up having an awful experience with the host saying our campsite was actually "just anywhere to the left of the driveway" and no fire pit for us to cook food on (which they had stated there would be) so in a panic and on a whim at like 7pm I called the number at the bottom of the Sol Harmony website and reached the beautiful Kat Harmon. I told her what happened and without skipping a beat she said (and I quote) "Come on, call me when you get here and I'll help you get through the gate and show your your spot. There is more than enough space for you here. Don't worry" and not to worry about paying for camping since it was so unexpected. So we got the full experience and I was able to find Kat and thank her in person for everything.

If you're an experienced festival goer you would know that sometimes events attract some questionable patrons. However, the Sol Harmony fest felt so unbelievably safe which is a *huge* green flag for me particularly being traveling women. I made some amazing new connections, met some wonderful new guides in the community, listened and danced to such quality live music and CRIED with Kat during the closing ceremony because of 1) how I never wanted to leave as I was already *home* and 2) the amount of gratitude I had in my body by the end was almost breathtaking for being in a space with SO MANY new like minded individuals.

I felt so good by the end. Usually festivals drain all your energy and you're exhausted by the second day but I felt so rejuvenated and at peace going home 🥰 I cannot wait to see familiar faces and new friends this year!
